Powerwall 3

Tesla Powerwall 3 is the home battery we install most in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Each unit stores 13.5 kWh, delivers 11.5 kW of continuous power and has a solar inverter built in, so a new solar and battery system needs less equipment on the wall. Installed, it runs about $15,400 per unit before incentives, with a 10-year Tesla warranty. The Solar Roofers is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer.

What it does in an outage

When NES or MTE power drops, Powerwall 3 switches your backed-up circuits over on its own. One unit typically covers essential loads, like the refrigerator, freezer, lights, Wi-Fi and a gas furnace blower or a small mini-split, for roughly 12 to 24 hours. With solar on the roof recharging it each day, it lasts much longer. That matters here: Winter Storm Fern left about 230,000 NES customers without power at its peak in January 2026, and nearly all power took about 13 days to restore.

Why it fits TVA territory

• No 1-for-1 net metering: Tennessee utilities do not credit exported solar at retail, so storing your own daytime solar for the evening is worth more than sending it back.
• Built-in inverter: one box handles solar and storage on a new install.
• Expandable: more units can be added when you want longer backup or a bigger share of the house covered.
• Tesla app: watch production, storage and backup status from your phone.

Good to know

There is no federal homeowner tax credit for batteries or solar installed after December 31, 2025. We size Powerwall to the loads you actually want to keep running, and we check your electrical panel first, since older panels sometimes need an upgrade.
