The free assessment is an on-site visit from The Solar Roofers team, a family-owned company roofing Nashville and Middle Tennessee since 2003. We check your roof's condition and remaining life, look at your main electrical panel, read your last 12 months of NES or MTE usage and check shade across the roof. Then you get a written proposal with the system size, equipment, expected yearly production and an installed price. If the roof will not outlast the panels, or the yard is too shaded for solar to pay, we will tell you that straight.
The Solar Roofers · Free Assessment
Timeline: permits and utility interconnection usually take 2 to 6 weeks. A rooftop solar install takes 1 to 3 days on site, 2 to 4 days with batteries and electrical panel work, and a roof plus solar project runs about 2 to 3 weeks.
From Assessment to Turn-On
✦ ✦ ✦
1
At your home
We check the roof and its remaining life, open the main electrical panel, look at shade from trees and neighbors, and read 12 months of your NES or MTE usage.
2
After the visit
You get the system size, the panels, inverter and battery we recommend, expected yearly production and an installed price, in writing.
3
Usually 2 to 6 weeks
We pull the permits and file the utility interconnection paperwork with NES or MTE, so you do not have to chase it.
4
Only if needed
If the roof has only a few years left, we replace or upgrade it first, so one crew and one warranty cover roof and solar. Doing both as one project typically saves $2,000 – $5,000.
5
1 to 3 days on site
Rooftop solar takes 1 to 3 days on site. With batteries and electrical panel work, plan on 2 to 4 days. Roof and solar together run about 2 to 3 weeks.
6
After final inspection
Once the inspection passes and your utility approves the interconnection, we turn the system on and walk you through the app, the battery settings and what runs in an outage.
